The Jefferson Celebrates the Founding Father of French Fries!

Quill has a tasty treat to celebrate America’s introduction to the french fry! In honor of the first printed Thomas Jefferson 2 dollar bill, Quill at The Jefferson Hotel is giving you a great Fry-Day Special! Stop buy the Quill Bar in Dupont on Fridays for 2 dollar fries to accompany your cocktails and companions! (Style points to those that pay with a $2 bill!)

This special starts September 7th from 2pm to close, giving you no excuse to miss out on The Jefferson’s tribute to the  prolific founder of the american institutions of french fries and independence!

The milti-talented Mr. Jefferson was known for being a progressive farmer and adventurous gourmet, it is not surprising that Jefferson is also thought to be the first person in America to slice potatoes lengthwise and fry them. Rumored to have served French Fries at The White House as early as 1802, Jefferson’s own manuscripts confirm that he brought the recipe back from his travels in France. Referred to by Jefferson as “potatoes, fried in the French manner,” Quill will be offering these commemorative pommes frites together with a Piquillo Red Pepper Aioli and finished with herbs that Jefferson would have grown in hisMonticello garden.

Pursue your happiness and visit Quill for inventive cocktails and this founding father’s food of choice!
