Where to Watch the Olympics in DC

For those that are not in London, and can’t stream the events online at work, and don’t want to wait until the end of the day to catch the highlights, it’s time to look into the best places to watch the events during your lunch break of after work. Only coming every four years and with limited days left of excitement and drama, take a look at these places to watch the remaining sports that pique your interest. Please let us know of other locations that are fun to watch at and great deals that are going on!

For the Tyson’s corner crowd, the Sheraton Premiere at Tyson’s corner is holding an Olympics watching contest of their own. At Brix and Ale the corporate Olympics are taking place! Local businesses can bring their employees to lunch or dinner and enjoy watching the events live. You can enter by registering your corporate team on Facebook, or email chelsie.chmela@sheraton.com, or in person. The top three companies that come and participate the most in viewing the Olympics will receive gold, silver, and bronze prizes. Gold receives a dinner for 12 in the Brix and Ale private dining room. You can follow what the daily deals and drink specials are on Facebook by searching “Brix&Ale.”

Another great place to try in DC is The Madison’s newly renovated bar Postscript. The European feel is just like London. In fact, their signature cocktail for the Olympics is the London Fog Cutter. It combines London Dry Gin, Absinthe, Maraschino Liqueur and Kaffir lime leaves in order to make the perfect refreshing drink to sip on during cocktail hour. Make sure you stop by soon to try it as it will be unavailable after the closing ceremonies. If you’re an early riser, be sure to stop by the Madison for the breakfast of Olympic champions. For $16 you receive a vegetable egg white omelet filled with spinach, mushrooms and broccoli, tomato slices on the side, Greek yogurt with quinoa granola, and a mixed berry salad. Start your day like an Olympian and power through balancing work, and keeping up with the events.

Another great place to relax and watch the Olympics is The Jefferson. Located right in the middle of the city, and on multiple metro lines, The Jefferson has access to all of the DC bars where the Olympics will be streaming. Home to the Jefferson, Quill bar and lounge is serving up breakfast, appetizers, and lunches fit for a champion. Chef Christopher Jakubiec has come up with the gold, silver, and bronze burgers. Gold is a good ole American Burger with aged cheddar cheese, silver is the award winning crab cake, and bronze is the BBQ pork. Desserts include a strawberry and blueberry shortcake parfait in the honor of the red, white, and blue. For the early risers and exclusive power smoothie is being offered with every kind of berry and grain protein option you can imagine. For the happy hour crew, the cocktail of choice is an homage to London, called the PimsCup. It mixes Beefeater Gin, Pims, Lemonade, and Gingerbeer. Enjoy!
